Scripture Text: John 3:22-30
Have you ever given thought to your place in the work of God here on earth? So many come to follow Jesus and see the process as little more than “joining the club.” They make a public commitment to the Lord, go through baptism , join a church, and then, as many would say, they “go on with their lives.” If that’s the case with you, you have misunderstood being a follower of Christ and a citizen of the kingdom of God. Being a Christian is not like joining a club where you meet once a week, pay your dues, and then live the rest of your life as you please. There is a specific role for you as a Christian and all else you do should be centered around that role.
I. Exposition and Commentary of verses 22-30
Three lessons form the text.
- Every saved person has an appointed working role in the kingdom.
- Only Jesus sets the value of your role.
- The purpose of every role is to elevate Jesus. Phil.2:10-11.
