Scripture Text: Luke 7:36-50
This passage approaches the issue of forgiveness in a slightly different way than most passages about forgiving and being forgiven. In fact, the passage asks the question, “How much forgiveness do YOU need? and How does that affect how you forgive others?”
I. Judging Another’s Need For Forgiveness Luke 7:36-39
II. The Truth About Indebtedness Luke 7:41-43
III. The Actions Of Recognition Of One’s Need For Forgiveness Luke &:44-48
Conclusion: The woman was forgiven because she believed Jesus could and would forgive her. The Pharisee received no forgiveness because he did not see his need to be forgiven. As for you and me, do we need forgiveness? Have we ever fallen short of God’s will? Have we ever injured the feelings or well-being of another person? Be honest, seek out God and ask His forgiveness. Then, go forward and forgive others as the Father has forgiven you.
