Scripture Text: Job 2:1-10
In this second sermon in Job, our pastor speaks to how to stand firm in the midst of troubling times. In this message he begins with an exegesis of the text, (vss. 1-10).
Dann follows the exegesis with three lessons we can learn from the text.
1.Nothing touches you that God does not allow!
2. The spiritual war we fight on earth is ongoing.
3. We cannot live n peace unless we grow spiritually
In conclusion, Trouble can get worse before it gets better. Worrying about it, trying to blame someone for that trouble is counterproductive. It makes the pain worse and begins to decay our faith. But, when we seek a more mature knowledge of God, we remember, nothing comes to us unless it first passes the by His throne. And if he allows it, it is not for destruction but for strengthening of ourselves as His children. Therefore, hold fast to His sovereignty, rest knowing He has not forgotten you, and stand on hope and faith until God restores you whom He loves. Restoration will come- and with it, greater strength and wisdom.
